The summit of Jabal al Ayachi.

Known for its pleasant gorges, as well as its vegetative cover consisting of cedar, holm oak, juniper, pine, etc., which shelters a great faunal biodiversity. A small community of nomads lived near the water sources, making the landscape more lively. The waters of these sources are the result of the melting snow, before their infiltration into the ground, from the high reliefs that culminate at Jbel Al Ayachi with a height of 3757m. This peak presents a great challenge for climbers due to the absence of a trail to reach its summit, making it one of the most difficult mountain summits to overcome in Morocco.

The Jaafar circus is well-deserved.

The track leading there from Midelt is very rugged: inquire before leaving. As one ascends, the holm oaks appear, then the thuja trees. The nearby Jbel Ayachi completely closes off this landscape, over which some beautiful cedars reign. Then the circus carves itself at the foot of the mountain. From the edges of the pass, taken by the return track to Midelt, a superb view is offered on the wooded and rocky amphitheater dominated by the crests of Ayachi covered with snow until May.

The circuit from the inn to the Jaafar gorges and the Jaafar circus, lunch in the cedar forest or with the nomads, then a visit to the gorges and the Jaafar circus. The duration of the circuit depends on the wishes of our clients. If you are lucky enough to do it in May, you will discover the lushness of the floral vegetation, entire beds of multicolored flowers. A delight for the eyes.

A Walk Amongst Nature

A half-day hike (including 2 hours of walking), towards the Kasbah des Noyers (Berrem), then to the Kasbah de Flilou and the hydroelectric power station, and back through the cedars overlooking the gorges and the Ksour of Flilou and Berrem. You will cross the river in several places, discover the waterfalls, the Ksour of Flilou and Berrem, the panorama of the El Ayachi massif, and finally the panorama of the Arid plateaus and the desert expanses to the north of Midelt.
